Sunday, June 24, 2018 Border crossing at Portal, North Dakota / Saskatchewan

Crossing the border with the shotgun was uneventful; customs was actually more interested in looking over our bear spray to make sure it was “approved bear spray” as mace is not allowable. While we did have to go inside to talk to the customs agent, he asked if we had done this before because the paperwork was very good and he was impressed with the level of detail to show how we shipped the handguns to Anchorage (Canada will not allow handguns… had to mail them from home). This turns out to be quite ironic as the next Canadian border crossing agent three weeks later had a vastly different opinion.

We had a nice breakfast of eggs & bacon that we cooked up on a baseball field bench. Other than another YCMA workout in Regina, SA and some cool mining equipment, the day is uneventful. We sleep at a truck stop in Saskatchewan.
