kahshahpiwi-kawnipi-k'agnes loop. the drops of rain tour, 2012
by kanoes
fantastic! (sarcasm) its raining as we wake up. we pack up wet and head to kawnipi. it rained the entire move and once again had to battle a head wind. we land on a point campsite on kawnipi, close to our murdock turnoff. once again we are cold and damp and have hopes of getting things dry again.
we get a break and manage to set camp while it isnt raining. at 3:30 the sun showed itself but the strong south wind continues.
everything is dry once again, thats such a good feeling.
this is another wonderful campsite. pine needle covered trails leading all over the place. this area looks like a blueberry farm...plants everywhere!
7pm, wind still howling. not much firewood here so we will be dark tonight.
still no big animal sightings on this trip. very few song birds, no squirrels or chipmonks either.
almost zero mosquitos so far. the gnats have been bothersome for me but not bad enough for the headnet.
personal note. its strange, i eat consistantly when im with a group, total opposite when im solo. i guess i need to take an imaginary friend along with me on solos. would it still be considered a solo trip?
