Woke up to a nice day and made Cinnamin bread pan fried for breakfast with home made icing.

Packed up camp and headed out south towards the Falls Chain. We wanted to make at least Bald ROck Falls camp today if not Cache Bay. We fished our way out catching many average walleyes and smallys. No Cache Bay today due to the hold up in fishing :) I love that type of problem.

As we approach Canyon Falls Sara and I remember that there is a shorter portage and decide to brave the strong current to try to get to it. We had to paddle hard and it tested our skills when we hit some of the swirling water parts but it was worth it cutting some of the portage off and the sense of satisfaction of fighting the water with my wife. She did a great job up front, she just seems to know when to change sides or pull. John and Angie wisely take the longer portage.

We head into the Falls Chain and surprisingly find Bald ROck Falls site open. It is a really nice site and we are surprised we find it open at the height of paddling season. After being at the site for 30 minutes we figure out why. There is a swamp nearby and the Mosquito infestation is quite fierce. We pretty much hang out on the flat rock point nearby the entire time to avoid being eaten alive.

John and I head out and fish the flowage and catch some small fish and one eater walleye we end up eating for dinner with our Mac and Cheese.

A quick camp fire--then chased to bed by the Mosquitos.
