Pack up camp and head through the rest of the Falls Chain. WIht it being moslty dry the portages are 100% easier. What a difference.
After the last Falls Portage we hear John and Angie arguing. I over hear ANgie say,"just ask him." I ask what do you want to know? John says nothing, but ANgie chimes in, "he wants to know how to stear!" I give John a brief lesson on the J-stroke and just plane stearing and he catches on quickly. Angie is thankful. We pass the Silver Falls portage and find butterflies all over the place.
We end up camping in Cache Bay on and Island near the Ranger Station. Trolled for trout but no action today on the way across Cache Bay. The Island is a really nice site but it was destroyed by the previous group. They cut down a live tree and planted it like a Christmas tree. They moved large Boulders into the tent spaces, lots of garbage, etc... An hour or 2 of clean up and the site was good again. I was proud of John and especially Angie--as she seemed particularly appalled at the damage. They really got into the leave no trace.
Cooked some tortellini with strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Enjoyed the final campfire and readied ourselves to leave tomorrow.
