Day 7 of 14
Monday, June 17, 2013 Up at 4:30. It’s windy again (still), and the temperature is down to the low 40s. At least my woollies weren't dead weight. Looks like more rain. I’m staying put another day, and considering a plan B for the remainder of the trip. Last thing I want to do is travel non-stop, which is what would be necessary to make the Kawnipi loop.
The heavy rain came and went by noon, so I went fishing. I trolled up a nice walleye using a tube, and invited him to dinner. A few other smaller participants were released. He was very tasty – a one course meal of fried fish. I couldn't have eaten another bite, let alone a side dish.
The sky is clear and by 8:00 I'm prepped for an early departure. I think I sleep better with a belly full of fish.
