July 24 – Onward towards the Falls Chain - Up early again and fixed a pancake breakfast. This was the first day we had some navigation issues. It was my read, as all of then were, and there were a couple of more mis-reads. We hit our first falls at Silver Falls. Some scouts helped us move our equipment, we were double portaging, and the leader gave us some Falls chain tips. I got confused in an area of a lot of islands, but it turned out that I was pretty much on track. We stopped short of the Falls chain and had one of our best suppers, Oriental Chicken Fried Rice with Oriental Ramen and pouch chicken. Tomorrow we tackle the Falls chain.
