July 26 – Wind/Rain bound - Our fishing was wiped out by wind and rain all day. At times the wind was very high with even stronger gusts. We tied down both ends of the canoe, maybe a bit of over caution but why take the chance. It was cold and wet the whole day, and we were short on warmer clothing. Never assume that July will be warm enough, ALWAYS bring some warm clothing. We spent all day in camp, reading and napping. Lunch was our normal peanut butter and honey, gorp, pineapple cup or dried fruit, and buffalo jerky. The weather was miserable at suppertime, so we just ate some Ritz crackers and drank coffee. The sun broke through at 5:30, bit it was just a tease. The wind did calm down a bit.
