Day 9 Wednesday, August 14

We got up early, left Rod Lake and portaged back into McEwen Creek but not before landing a couple of bass and a pike while waiting for our turn to unload our boat. We negotiated a wet portage into Dumas by lining our boats along a small creek and then paddled across and portaged into Farquier where we caught a couple of bass before portaging into Star and then Arp.

We had lunch on a small knoll before the portage into Louisa where we were greeted by a vast sandy beach with crystal clear water.
We spent a fair bit of time frolicking in the water before sending the kids onward to commandeer us a camp down lake and they found a doozie!
Open and breezy this spot has great tarp and tent spots and the island is ridden with vast fields of ripe plump blueberries. We decided this spot was deserving of a second rest day. We made a quick dinner of Thai Peanut Noodles and Judy produced a rich chocolate mousse for dessert.
