Tuesday, August 29, 2017 Off to Agnes today after Sunny whipped us up a hearty omlette breakfast. Cool, foggy morning but looks like it will get nice. Slight south wind going down McVicar. Missed the correct little bay for the portage and went up a beaver drag trail for awhile before we realized it was wrong. Found the right trail and made it to Anubis. The Anubis to Bird portage goes up a rock spine, pretty little stream flowing alongside. Had lunch on the little island site on Bird. You could probably spend 2 weeks there and maybe not see another human. Bird to Agnes River portage is a buggar. Rocky, muddy creek valley and it was humid.....ugh. Wind was building from SW as we fought it in north end of Agnes. Finally picked a site down aways in the knot of little islands around 3pm. Took a break, swam, made camp, settled in for a quiet night. Butthead made some of his dehydrated beer so we had some brewskis around the campfire.
