Day 8 of 10
Friday, September 01, 2017 Left camp about 8:30. Decent weather to start the day. The camp across from the Dumas portage looks like the best one on the lake. That portage is a tough one.....sloped rock along a creek and you have about a 4 inch ledge for a foothold. The rest of the portages through Rod, Edge, Turn are shorter and not too bad. Had lunch at the creek before Glacier and lined through the portage out of Glacier to McEwen Creek. Cool paddle on McEwen Creek with a slight tail wind.......a wind that grew and blew us up McEwen to the "Hilton" island site. The wind got cold and we set a tarp up behind some trees cuz the wind was blowing right into the south exposed site. A couple of small rain showers came and went but overall it was a decent evening.
