Set in Oregon during the Vietnam war, Nick Drake is a nam veteran who has taken a remote Oregon Post as a Fish and Game warden to overcome PSTD related issues from the war and falls into the middle of several mysteries. Aside from references to the war, does not feel like a "historical fiction" novel at all. Feels very contemporary and the stories, characters, wildlife, and culture are all very engaging.
