AmarilloJim: "No photos. Was using a deep tail dancer 11 purpledescent with a 2oz snap weight and 150' of line out. Generally contour trolling in 60 fow. Caught them from Robbins Is to Eddy falls. Was too windy to go vertical on them with blade baits (would of loved to do that!). When trolling into a strong wind paddle hard for a few seconds after a strike. This will prevent slack in the line as you reach for your rod and allow the fish to hook itself as it pulls."

Well done! I always use the "two hard strokes" method of setting the hook while canoe trolling. Works great, upwind or down wind.

They do love those Tail Dancers, and nice job of figuring out the bite. I'm jealous. :)

AmarilloJim: "QueticoMike: "Those sounded like maybe one or two of those would make a good shore lunch. Sounds like a quality trip."

Yep!
Had to throw back many to get to some smaller eater size.
There must be some MONSTER NP in there as I caught several 3 pounders with fresh teeth marks on them."

Nice! Now I'm hungry for some reason :) Did you get into any decent pike?

Any photos? Willing to share where they were or what you used?

I really believe Knife lake lake trout fishing is vastly improved over the 1970's-80's.

No I didn't, but I only fished a couple hours each day. It was to windy to do anything but troll as I was solo. Once I had a pattern for LT I just played around with them.

Just got back from a 5 day trip on Knife. I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality. Didn't catch anything big but lots of 4 to 5 pounders.
