Sweet!
I almost bought one several years ago from an outfitter. It was new but had been damaged somehow at the store. Sadly, the store went out of business before I could broker a deal. Ended up with a better boat in the long run. A Malecite Ultralite.

Much to my surprise as I was researching a just purchased Indy in Ann Arbor......the boat is awesome! Won't take it off the truck until it sees a lake.

Heheheh, I've had that happen a few times. Once was an add for a MRC Malecite and they had this pic of my MRC Courier in the BWCAW. I e-mailed them and the add disappeared. I watched for it for a few weeks and it never returned. I wish the late Paul Harvey could give me "The REST...of the story" (LOL)?

So you are saying that the boat listed in the Facebook page is actually yours Cowdoc? I asked him if it was his boat or a link from an ad, and he just answered that it was his. Hmmmm. At $ 600 that is an incredible price. Too good to be true.
He does seem to know about boats and is answering comments.

The Bowling Green CL add......I checked it out just for fun. The full pic of the canoe with the Pine trees is my boat. They snagged it off the internet. No.....mine is not for sale.

I paid $650 for mine.....it was pristine, but it was the FG version at 44#. Not sure what the kevlar or hybrid version would be worth.....$1000? $1500 seems high for the CL boat, and I can't see the FB boat.

Here's a few pictures. Woodwork needs some TLC and the seat will have to be raised before I can paddle it. The buyer didn't mention that a previous owner 'glassed in two wooden "Rail-like" fixtures. I assume they had mounted a seat to the bottom, but can't figure out how with this fixture? If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE clue me in! Hopefully I'll get to test paddle it next week?

Hull and stems look great. Wood appears a little thirsty for some Watco Oil but appears solid.

that's a pretty color! i can't imagine a seat mounted on the floor of the canoe. what if the owner had a fish finder or some other gadget that would slide onto those wood pieces?
in any case, it's a beauty of a canoe, enjoy!

Mocha, I'll have to bring it to MN next time up north. I love that color too, prettiest one Mad River made IMHO? My wife mentioned that our canoes "Match" (LOL)!

Picked it up yesterday and needs a little TLC to the woodwork. It is Fiberglass, not kevlar, but still not nearly as heavy as the Prospector I traded for it. Headed to the river in a few minutes, but will take a few pics tomorrow. Funny looking structure on the bottom that LOOKS like a seat was mounted on the bottom?

I would like that expedition kevlar lay-up. Mine is the ultralight kevlar and I worried about knocking it around on portage landings on my 2016 trip. Actually, it did just fine with no damage other than scratches. I carried a good repair kit that had epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth, but never had to get it out. I did like the 30 pound weight... a lot!

I've only seen the Eggplant color in magazines....never on a real boat. Always thought it was a sharp color. Indy's are just pleasant, easy boats to paddle.

I picked up an Indy last summer, kevlar expedition, for $750 (made in 2000). Its slightly lighter and has aluminum rails and plastic decks which works better for me as I store it in a pole-barn type structure, under a tarp. It was a show model in an outfitters shop, purchased by an employee and stored in a garage....gelcoat is scratched a bit but otherwise fine. I'd hate to put the first scratch on something so fine.
Presently, someone in Lynchburg va is selling on c-list a pristine Indy, several malachites and a liberty, all in kevlar. If $ no issue, they may complete somebody's wishlist.

I do. Mine is a fg layup....about 44#. Blue one pictured should be the UL kevlar layup where they used colored resin. (blue outside....blue inside). I love mine. Stable for a V keeled boat (Indy's flatten out more mid-ship), good glide, maybe a tad wide for some solos. Only real concern is getting it trimmed just right in a quartering tail wind......gets a little tough to control.

Picked up an Indy for a friend and I did get to paddle it for a little while, but it's been 5 years ago. He's bragged about how nice that boat is, and I would just like to hear what any of you here have to say? I remember Coda here had one, and have read his thoughts.
Oh, the reason for my interest is that I've got a pending deal on one that I put a deposit on until the gentleman gets back from vacation. Hopefully, it will be in my possession in a couple weeks?
