Oddly enough, I DID have a small Silky Saw and just last week my Agawa Boreal 21 saw arrived! Exactly as you. When I pulk in during the Winter I'll take that Boreal 21 saw in with me but like you say, I wouldn't on a normal backpacking trip. Some items I bought to add a layer of enjoyment. No doubt I've made some purchases that will get left home in the future. |

So, I didn't need (or did I?) the Agawa Canyon Boreal 21 saw that arrived this morning. I didn't even know of its existence until a thread on saws popped up on the gear forum. An while I would nevel add that much weight to my backpacking load, it is a reasonable tool to add to a canoe tripping pack. Need vs Want; I can justify either argument. It will, however, make my next wilderness experience different. In fact, each new piece of gear has the potential to open the door to a new unexpected experiences. I'm happy to say there is nothing left on my list to get for my trip in September. I'm sure I'll find a few items, but for the most part, my backpacking trips have helped me with most things. Thank You, forum members, for making this easier for my first trip. |

I just got a Thundercloud tarp from Warbonnet and cut lines and set it up for the first time this weekend. How can it be so light, so small and cover so much area? And the snake skins gobble it up into such a nice package for packing. So what was that talk about saws....you guys are such enablers. |
