I have a few favorite campsites I visit occasionally with big rocks/outcrops. Cherokee is a lake that has a nice selection of these. What other lakes in the BWCA (east, central or west) have multiple campsites with big rocks out front? Thanks for your ideas! |

SAK - Southern most campsite on the island. Up the hill and to the south. My son spent a couple of hours on a windy day watching the whitecapped waves crawl up the lake to the west. Banadad Lake - Western most site on an island. Lots of sitting rock space here. River Lake - (west of Malberg) - Northern site on the island. Another son declared it the most comfortable rock in the BW. Frost Lake - Northern site on eastern shore. Crooked Lake (next to Gillis) - Southern island site. Nice rock right out front looking west. |

Doesn't get much better for watching sunsets or storm clouds approaching. |
