Portages are easy for the most part. There are a few good campsites along the way. Fishing for me has been hit or miss. Small pike on Larch, walleye near falls on Clove. Decent bass on Gneiss near Devils elbow. Find flowing water and there should be decent fishing. Beautiful route, fishing just seems to come and go. Popular route though so you will see a bunch of people and campsites can be taken so plan ahead.

Good luck, have fun.

Right out of the gate you have a half mile of twisting and turning creek with plenty of 90 degree turns and 5-7 beaver dams. Use google maps and zoom all the way in. You'll see plenty of dead heads in the creek.
Once you out of the creek Larch lake is ok for fishing. Clove portage is not to long but has a small hill.
What kind of fish are you looking too catch?
What time of year are you going?

Listen to the Tumblehome podcast episode they just came out with last week on walleye fishing. They start at that EP and camp in the area and explain it quite well. Larch, Clove, etc

Any info on this area? Are there many difficult portages? Will be traveling with two retirees with knee replacements. How is the fishing?
