There was a time when this was ok. But good sense is something in the rear view mirror. Maybe you call Latourells on Moose and see if they could help. Go to Prairie portage with someone that has a permit and meet your friend at Prairie portage?

I think is the basic all people on the permit must enter on that date. Paddle it motor doesn't matter.
As far as canoe in next day, if you had an overnight paddle permit even if another entry point I think that you could join. The fact you'd be hitching a motor ride could be a sticking point but doesn't seem to break the quota principles.

I have an overnight motor permit for May 16 going through Fall Lake. The problem; I can't go that day now. I can go on May 17 though. Could I used a self issue permit and use my solo canoe to meet up with my crew if I make one of them the trip leader? Can I "swap" permits with someone else if I find someone who would rather enter on my permit date rather than theirs??

Duh. I will get a separate overnight paddle permit. This would actually be a good idea so I can have the option of going off on my own.
