From time to time I've heard people on here talk about rating campsites.
I've snagged an overnight motor permit for Basswood this year and would like to research the campsites that I'm not familiar with.
Could someone help me navigate to the campsites rating part of this website. Someone recently post about a old lodge that was made into a site. Basically I wanted to know about tent pads.
Landings for boats.
Views.
Fishing from camp. Thanks for any help.

Go to the maps by entry points page and click on the red dot that is the campsite you want more info about. If someone rated it, the info will be there.

Go to the maps section. Click on a little red dot. Then click on the link to view detail. Not all camp sites are rated.

I mark-up my maps with these ratings before I leave. I know the ratingsare subjective...what's a five-star campsite to one person is a two-star to another. But it gives me some idea as to what is out there and sites I maybe should look at, or stay away from.

Are you spending time at Fall Lake Campground again this year? What a great place.

Yep, go to the interactive map linked. Click on a campsite and if it's been rated ratings will be on the left with dates and comments and any pictures if they left any.

There's another site that will go unnamed that has a similar system if you want to cross reference

Bobber, I'm not going to make Fall lake this year.
Got a bunk house at Voyager north for the may trip.
Staying in a quest house in Ely for the 1st part of my June trip. Then the over night in Basswood. The flag will fly where ever I'm at.. Have to have an IPA another time

Sites went fast. I was able to get one, just not my first choice. Sounds like you have a good plan for a couple trips. Enjoy!

Guys, what am I missing on the Fall Lake sites? You're talking about them being gone quickly this year, but I'm looking on rec.gov and there isn't a single day without a campsite available from May thru July?

I have a couple of Fall/beyond day motor permits for July and August and I'm thinking I'll pitch a tent at a nice electric site there at the campground. Charge up the trolling motor batteries and everything. What's a first-timer at the campground need to know? Busy times at the boat launch? Are certain sites superior to others?

I'm not in a hurry to hook based on current availability.

I booked a 2 week stay for early June. I wanted lake frontage on the Lake Loop and targeted a couple favorite sites. That's where things looked full fast.

All the sites are nice and the launch never is really too busy. It's just a matter of securing the site you like. Seems the Norl Loop is a little more "party" atmosphere so I always avoid that. And there are a few first come, first serve non-reservable sites, but I have seen units cruising the campground waiting for something to open up,
