When we went through there we camped on Iris, Ell, and Sora. Iris was our favorite, but please treat it with the deepest care. The moss and other plants are so delicate. I'm also hoping you are using a stove. It was very disappointing to find recent, crude fire rings at some spots. We dismantled them as best we could, but there was fire scarring on the rock at one site. Have a wonderful trip. It is not easy going, but was very rewarding to do. We loved knowing no one else would beat us to a campsite...lol. |

Voyager: "I'm looking at old notes on my map. It's been a few years. I noted to portage out of Octopus on the east side of the creek, and a rough trail out of Fetters on the west side of the creek." These notes were awesome. I am grateful. We referenced anything up to Sora. Everything after that felt much more like BWCA. |

Intent is to cut through from octopus, Sora, copper. Any recommendation on which lake to target for camp? Din, Sora, iris, mass? I've searched, but cannot locate any information on old maps showing old portages, or old campsites. Headed in with or without any information. But I'd certainly take any advantage I can get. I'd love to hear what you know!?! Thanks in advance ?? |
