What about the crossing at Pigeon River? Can you get one there? How long is the process inn person and how long is it good for?

3 weeks sounds about right. It took me longer to get my passport card than the RABC.

You didn't need a passport at one time."

Yup. Still don't though for RABC. Just a passport is enough or a primary and a secondary if other.

Been getting permits since they were required.
I don't ever remember being good for 3 years? But do know if you timed it right like say after your birthday you could get almost 2 years.

But yes,I do agree it would be nice to be good for three years,I would be even willing to pay the same annual fee multiply by 3 just for convience(sp).

I buy my Ontario-Quetico fishing license for 3 years at a time now.
