I'm in need of a little advice. I need a garnish for Martinis. I've tried to dehydrate green olives but I'm afraid that's may not work. I need it to show up nicely in photos, big enough to see and colorful. Merri is right now making the rounds of stores looking for the olives that come in packets but I'm wondering if you may have an idea for an alternative. A thought just came to mind; how about a giant freeze dried Blueberry? Any idea where I can find some?

Hot Pickled (Large - Whole) Green Beans. We put them in "Cajun" martinis. Gin that been has steeped with Jalapeno, seeds removed.

I've never tried it but, how about dehydrating the baby white onions?
Olives probably have too much oil in them to dehydrate.

I brought Olives with three years ago, lots of salt brine in those, you are good to go in a water tight container. Just keep some of the juice with them.

I don't see them online, but noticed Dollar Tree had small bags of olives yesterday.

Saw some small packets of olives in a World Market store yesterday. It looked like there were about three olives per package. About $1.49 per package if my memory serves me right.
You might check and see if you can order them online at their website.

Maybe small cucumbers that you can use in a gin like Hendrick's. Persian or kirby cukes would be smaller.

I saw a bunch of that sort of thing on our grocery's shelf! How do you pack it in, will something like that keep for a few days just in a ziplock bag?

I have had the packaged olives before - not too bad if you put them in a drink. Link

I love it! How about a whole sardine in the drink? I wonder if it would be too salty?

one year i premixed a bottle of bombay sapphire, some dry vermouth and a little olive juice, with the olives, all in a wide mouth nalgene. Poured a bit into my cup and fished an olive or two out with a fork. This might work?

Spotted some small packages of olives at the local WalMart today. Sorry, I forgot to look at the price.
