Looks like you have the lenses covered with a mix of zooms and primes. There is really no long lens to get unless you get an adapter and use other lenses which seems to defeat the purpose of using a little camera. So if you are looking for the next lens: Sony 10-18 - super wide, includes focal lengths you don't have, would be useful in BWCA esp around camp Sony Zeiss 24 - could sell the 16 to help pay for it unless you really need a pancake lens. The 24 is outstanding Zeiss Touit 12 - great super wide prime lens. On the large size and expensive. Judging from your kit you would probably prefer the Sony 10-18 zoom which is very good. |

My kit is now 4 bodies (I hate changing lenses on these little things) and lenses: Zeiss Touit 12 Sony Zeiss 24 Zeiss Touit 32 (waiting for the Zeiss Touit 50) The Zeiss lenses are really sharp. Much better than the standard Sony lenses, but much more expensive. A good resource for used gear is KEH. I bought 3 bodies from them and they clean them. I updated the firmware and they are just fine. The 12mm Zeiss is super wide so if you are deciding which lens to get first, for for the 24 or 32. Going used on KEH can save you some. You could also try them out for a trial period by renting them from one of the online rental companies. I also have the Sony 10-18 which is a very nice lens. The build quality seems much better than the kit zooms. |

My small collection 18-55mm KIT 55-210mm 30mm 16mm 1.8/50 I have yet to pull the trigger on any else besides the Sony brands. -Do you lose anything by going to the different brands? Image Stabilization, Auto Focus. Not sure when this info entered my brain... but it's there..... ha - If i had to add one lens, what should it be? - Which is your personal favorite? - Not a huge fan of my telephoto. I'd like something better/longer. - I use and love Lightroom - Never heard of KEH, thanks for the tip. |
