01/20/2015 03:55PM Bear had a few pictures of celebrating new years mixed in with many other camping slides, and that is the slide that folks remember. sometimes the santa hat comes out winter camping with me, the santa hat kinda throws people off a bit when they encounter me on skis in the BWCA. |

01/20/2015 11:20AM One memorable and poignant set of slides from Bear's Winter Camping Symposium presentation showed Bear and several of his friends in their "holiday" finery. If my memory isn't too foggy and cloudy, one gentlemen so regally attired was a well known maker of fine canoe camping gear. Am I recalling this correctly? |

01/19/2015 09:25PM I have had an opportunity to be winter Camping with Bear several times and may join him for this years pull out. Bear is Very Knowledgeable about winter camping as well as summer paddling, and humble about his experiences. He learned many things by way of trail and error. |
