08/22/2017 04:35PM there is an old trappers portage on the west side of the creek. I haven't used it in several years, but you should be able to follow it, although probably have to go around a few deadfalls. Pull over the first beaver dam and paddle to the point on the NW side of the little pond, the portage will start there. |

08/22/2017 04:12PM Thanks for the info. I passed information along, glad we won't be wandering through the woods. |

08/14/2017 07:42AM Was "passable" a few years ago, but you weren't going to paddle the portion a bit south of the Indiana portage down to Hula. We walked the loaded boat upstream that whole way. Not a big deal, but given the choice again, I'd eat the portages and go around. |

08/13/2017 10:04PM Entering at Wood Lake late August with a group of six intermediate paddlers and thinking of going to Wind Lake. Does anyone know if the river between Hula and Wind Bay is passable? And does anyone have suggestions for nice campsites between Hula and Wind Lake for a group of six? Thanks so much! |
