OldGreyGoose	03/22/2014 09:39AM Lexington, Pinetree has a good point, and it's real subjective what's "gold" and what's "nothing." That said, if it were me and I was up for bushwhacking, I'd try for Magie Lake. A few years back a photographer named Tom Pinkerton got into Magie and has at least one photo taken there here: LINK --Goose
Lexington	03/21/2014 08:13PM Yes, asking for and getting advice and information does somewhat detract from the "adventure" of the quest, but with only five days available to me, I was hoping to at least avoid wasting time on a "don't bother going there" small lake that I will have to bushwhack to. I know that I will spend a day by getting to "A" and pointing the compass toward "B" and heading into the trees to see where it takes me, so I would love to hear from those who have done the same thing in this area. Thanks.
PINETREE	03/21/2014 02:20PM I can mention a few words about what's in them but little lakes sometimes it is nice to leave it to the explorer to find out. Sometimes you find gold in them lakes sometimes nothing.

OldGreyGoose	03/05/2014 05:38PM Yes, I typed the wrong Mans. (This and That don't connect.) The island campsite on That Man just south of the creek mouth is decent. There are some "relics" in the woods on the west side of the lower end of This Man, presumably from a camp used by workers doing mineral core-sampling in the area. --Goose

Lexington	03/05/2014 03:39PM OGG: There is a YouTube video titled "Creek that Bypass 119 rod Portage from No Man Lake to That Man Lake Quetico". You say "between This and That." Is this the same creek? I will be solo and am planning on making This and Other my general home for the week, with possible excursions to nearby spots (see above). Thanks.

macklakebound	03/04/2014 08:33PM not sure about this and that but bock lake north of other man is full of walleyes. you will have to paddle up a small creek and bushwack the rest but it is worth it. there is also a small bay at the south west corner of other man ,you go through a shallow cannel to get to it,that was full of spawning smallies that time of year. we did that loop a few years ago in early june and saw no one for 6 days until we entered the border lakes.

SunCatcher	01/25/2014 01:14PM I have been from the NorthEast going SouthWest from Otherman, to This Man, then No Man, then That Man. Then we headed south to a "No Name Lake on way to Emerald, You go up a Steep Hill to the South on Way to Emerald. Janice at the Cache Bay Ranger Station called the No Name lake "HIGH MAN" I think because it sits on top of a hill you got to go up from either portage to get into it either from the South or from the North it is up hill to HIGH MAN. I do not know about the lakes you are inquiring about, but do know there is little traffic on the Man Lakes. It is damn busy on the border lakes, but not so much up on the Man Chain. Not that you may not see someone, but it is on the Q side and thus less folks. Lots of folks just fish the Man Chain lakes and do well. If you happen to camp on Emerald, on the East end on there is a really nice camp spot. It is sort of hidden and not that easy to find. It is on that big point that sticks out West into the Lake on the East side of the Lake. If you go that way, might try it out it is a nice spot! SunCatcher
