07/25/2013 10:35PM Thanks for the report. We almost made it to Winchell, maybe next year. |

07/15/2013 02:09PM Sounds like you got a chance to see how Wind-hell (Winchell) got its name. :). Not a terribly fun lake to paddle when you have a stiff head wind but it is a pretty lake. |

07/13/2013 10:49PM Thanks for the trip request. Is the portage from Pillsbery to Swallow on the East side of the narrow passage? The Voyager map, Google Earth and the Red Pine GPS map all show it in the same location as your Fisher map. |

06/22/2013 07:28PM Thanks for the report. I did a lot of the same last fall and enjoyed the area, so it brought back memories. |

06/21/2013 08:00AM Thanks for a good report. I would have liked to see some photos. You covered a lot of ground for such a short trip. We have been on all of that route, but took much longer to do it. We (even in our younger days this was the case) really like to take more time to savor the experience. But it sounds like you had fun! My favorite part of the park. Reading just the names of the lakes brought back good memories. :-) |

06/20/2013 02:33PM Nice report! I was in this area a few weeks ago but didn't make it up to Meeds. Bummer about the blowdown on the Lizz portage but glad to hear that you can still get through. |
