Going on a 5-day trip in mid-June, leaving from Moose Lake north of Ely... and returning to same point.
Looking for tips on routes to hit best lakes for Walleye, Smallmouths, and Lake Trout (which are the best lakes and routes to include them).
Thanks

I would head up to Knife Lake....good lake for all the species you mentioned. Ensign is a good one also but no Lakers that I am aware of. Basswood is another great lake but I haven't fished it yet.

Are you going to Moose/Newfound/Sucker chain of lakes off the Fernberg road??
In which case you have the options of Basswood or Knife Lake for trout. They also have smallies and walleyes, as well as Ensign and Vera.
Only Big Moose and Nina Moose are straight north of Ely, on the Echo Trail.
Not meaning to nit pick, just want to make sure you get the correct info.

Bringing some Boy Scouts with Northern Tier outfitters. Entry point is on Moose Lake Road approx. 20 miles Northeast of Ely.
Thanks...

Birch can be good. Then head up to Knife...also good. Come back through Vera and Ensign. Splash has a good site for a large group and can be decent for a last night of fishing.
