I'm assuming you meant HDS 5x not HDX 5x. Yes, the transducers are interchangeable, the only difference between the two models is screen size and the fact that the x models do not have chart plotter capability.

HST-WSBL is most commonly used, with the blue connector. I have gone to this transducer myself for my Hook 4 unit, as I find I don't use downscan much anyway on the smaller screen, so the HST-WSBL is a lighter option, I just have to change the setting on my unit to match.
