Has anyone had any experience with this line? I guess it is red, UV resistant, and basically invisible under water. I am going to be spooling up my reels in a couple of weeks and was looking for some input.

I heard that the Cajun line basically recycled garbage. This year, I am going to put on Berkely Vanish Transition in 8# for walleye. In sunlight, the line is a deep gold color, but because it is Fluorocarbon, it disappears under water... pretty sweet stuff!

Since the majority of the water I fish is stained I usually do not worry about visibility of my fishing line... I use Berkley XT (green) 6lb, or 8 lb for walleye and smallmouth (spinning reels) and 10 lb - 12 lb for northerns and such... I am going to use some 10 lb (2lb diameter)spiderwire for trolling for lakers this summer.

I really liked that "iron silk" line, I used late last season, it was smooth to cast and didn't get quite so nicked up.

I have tried the Cajun line. I personally wouldn't use it in the BW. I like the Berkley Transition, but on my list trip I did notice it got pretty nicked up from rocks and other cover. I did have a couple line breaks, but I had a lot more on previous trips using mono, plus I think I was getting better hook sets with the Transition. The lower stretch seemed to make a big difference when I had a lot of line out for trolling. Who knows though that could just be in my head. If you are a mono man I would probably use a high quality mono like the Spiderwire SuperMono.

When trolling, I use 8 - 10 lb Stren with a 3 ft PowerPro leader 30lb test, 8lb diameter. You won't get snapped off with this set-up. Jigging and Slip Bobber fishing I use 6 to 8lb line - Stren and Berkeley work fine.
