I was taking my brother and dad up the Moose River to Iron and Crooked on June 18th for some good fishing when my brother got offered the opportunity to play baseball in Japan for a month. This forced our trip to July 1st and we are now going to Pietro, Turtle, and Gull. Does anyone have any experiece that would suggest I am going to experience a noticable decline in the fishing due to pushing the trip back 2 weeks or will we be okay?

If it's any consolation, the monster pike in Turtle don't care what the temps are. The lake's too shallow for them to hide.

I would have to second that, I have seen some monsters come out of turtle. Clearwater's pretty good and Bald Eagle aint to shabby either. I have always had really good luck with smallmouth in some of the southwestern bays on Bald Eagle at all times of the summer.
This monster came out of the little bay on the north side of Turtle Lake in Late July.

My paddling buddy and I were on Bald Eagle, Gull, Pietro etc. in mid-July last year (July 20-25). He kept throwing a white Mr. Twister and the northerns couldn't stop taking the darn thing. I got tired of freeing northern after northern back into the water. I caught smallmouth after smallmouth on Gull Lake as well. I used a variety of lures including several that resembled crayfish. There are plenty of places to catch them but those rocky shoals on Gull along the north shore near the campsite next to the portage to Pietro was amazing. We caught walleyes and crappies down in Gabbro right below the small rapids where Bald Eagles dumps into Gabbro. The campsite on top of the hill overlooking Pietro is fantastic as well. Have a great time.
