I noticed on the MN DNR website that there are several lakes scattered throughout BWCA that are stocked with brook trout. Anybody ever fish for them? How? Thanks.

FISHED ROG WEEK OF MAY 15-20-WATER WAS TOO COLD OR THERE ARE NO TROUT-CAN'T GUARANTEE WHICH-WE HAD TWO STRIKES IN 4 TRIES AND LANDED ON SMALL BASS. THERE WERE LARGE HATCHES DAILY (WE CAMPED AT ROG) AND WE FISHED LEECHES, SPINNERS AND FLIES ALL 3.

Thanks Jim, I guess this is not a brook trout fishing forum. I googled "BWCA brook trout fishing" and had several good hits, if anyone is intrested.

I just fished Bingshick Lake off the Gunflint and didn't get any fish. Worked it for two hours in the evening and nothing. Pretty lake and no one around.

i have had good luck in several small trout lakes, including ahsub near disappointment. i have had best luck fishing an inflated nightcrawler on a slip sinker rig right off of shore. also can troll a small rapala on a long line.
