We are heading out on Lac La Croix next Monday. I am curious what depth people are finding the Lakers?

Seems like usually by July they are holding in 60-75 feet. If the weather (temps) are ahead of schedule (as some say they are), they could be even deeper. They can be caught shallower, however if they are active.

Just got back from Carp lake entry and could only muster up one laker this trip.We tried our usual 30 plus crank baits but ended up catching the only one on a white twister tail jigged in about 20 ft. of water fishing for eyes.

Lakers will hold about 5'-15' deeper than eyes. I'm sure the hogs will be even deeper, but for nice size trout you should find them in 35' or less.

We just got back yesterday and caught a few lakers. We trolled with deep diving taildancers. The lure went down 30+ feet. We were over an estimated 40 feet. We did not have a depth finder, we just used a contour and guessed.
