Am taking my hubby on his first bdub trip in September and I know that he'll want to fish. BUT, he cannot bring all his gear with. Since I don't fish I don't have a clue as to what to tell him to bring/not to bring. What's a need/want? How many different things to bring? I know there's gonna be a lot of opinions - and all are appreciated :-)

First of all, what does he want to fish for?

Let him bring whatever he wants to. Just make him carry it :)

To help narrow things down: What lakes will you be fishing? What fish will you be targeting? Are you hoping for a fish meal, or is it just for fun?

Usually just fishing for fun. We're thinking Hog Creek to Perent or Bog Lake. I think Walleye would be his fish of choice.

Way too much.

I was prepared for everything and ended up using only 5 - 10% of what I brought. I'm not sure I have the courage to bring less.

Maybe that is the question.....what percentage of the fishing gear do you end up using?
