Just back from another 5 day average fishing trip on Seagull lake. Only caught small ones mostly smallies, little skinny pike. I've fished the lake app. 10 times, only 1 out of 10 was fantastic. I'm constantly told walleyes are "off the bite". Lindy riggin, slip bobber w/ leeches, tossin crankbaits at shore and trolling with them. Bites were few and far between, and this year nuttin but young uns! Am I to assume I am not a competent fisherman, or have you been unimpressed with the fishing too?

Its still fun to be fishing a lake w such potential!

I was chatting with a fishing guide this summer who fishes Seagull often. He said the fishing has improved year after year since the motor restrictions were placed several years back. In fact he was telling me that a couple clients hired him to fish Alpine for a day and they had to cross Seagull to reach Alpine. He said, we will be passing over many large fish while paddling over seagull.

His name is Cory Christianson and I believe he books primarily out of Seagull Creek Fish Camp. If you can afford the fee, it may be well wort it. You could probably learn more in a day of fishing with him than you could in ten trips to Seagull by yourself. Now I'm not saying you will learn the places to fish, as you will learn a few, but rather a few more concepts of fishing if you ask a few questions and observe what he does.

I see it this way, people take all sorts of classes to improve their skills for favorite hobbies, and to me, fishing is no different and fishing with a guide can be a lot like taking a class on fishing.

Good luck!!
