Just wondering if anyone has found any decent size leeches recently? I am heading into the BW on Thursday and have been looking for leeches in the Twin Cities north to Two Harbors. Most places I have spoken with have a "lake mix" with mostly medium and small leeches.

I know the big ones are harder to come by this time of year, but was hoping someone might have a bead on a place with some bigger ones available.

The probably will not find an entire batch of large leeches this time of year.
The big ones die off after spawning, so the leeches you get now will be a pond run (different sizes)
Most leech trappers quit when it becomes slow, which is about the first week of August or slightly earlier.
If you somehow manage to find any large leeches, they most likely have been tanked for quite a while, and will be weak.

I believe TGO is correct. I know getting tanked always leaves me weak :0)

The Bait Box in superior had all sizes this weekend. I dont know if they were tanked or not though. Mabey TGO has a little breathalyzer to check them first.

IMHO, dont bother with leeches this time of year. switch to minnows.

I should have known better than to use technical bait dealer talk when dealing with "civilians"! :)
