It may be taboo, but we all seem to be friends here...

What lure do you absolutely swear by?

Mine is a Daredevle: good ol white and red for Northerns, but lately I have noticed the Zara Spook drives the bass crazy!

Lime green buzzbait ripped across the surface or trolled behind the canoe - absolutely the favorite bait of big Bass in the BWCA and Quetico... last year.

This year it doesn't work worth a darn.

Go figure.

Floating Rapala, jointed firetiger.
you can long line it in deep water.
you can cast it in shallows.
you can twitch it like a wounded minnow.
It will catch Bass, Walleye and Northerns.

Anyone heard of the Top Prop? Fun top water buzz bait that they can't resist. You really cant beat a lindy rig in the BW. 18 in snell a single float and a spinner with a jumbo leech I believe is unbeatable

My favorite bait is red and has a string on one end that you light... throw it into the water and it makes a noise like thunder!!

Naw really my favorite artifical is gitzit, smoke/red flake fished on a Shaw Grigsby high performance hook (has a clip on the end... 3/0) and a 1/8 oz weight. With it I catch smallmouth, walleyes, perch, and get bitten off by northerns sometimes...

Other than that... Leeches either under a slip cork or lindy rigged!

Interesting no Mepps comments yet.

Undoutedly the most productive lure not requiring bait for me.. Everything bites them. Don't get the tiny ones unless you want tiny fish. That's it consider us all blood brothers and sisters now..

Never had problems with a simple leadhead jig and a leech.

I have a secret "method" I use. I whisper sweet things softly over the rippling water. When I feel I've softened the little critters up enough, I pounce! Results like this don't lie!

Simple lead head jig and white or chartreuse twister tail seem to work well for me.

Black and white daredevil and a silver spoon for Northern's. Different color Rebel crawfish for small mouths. Artificial leeches for walleyes.

Silver doctor spoon and leech. Any size. Any type of fish. Casting, jigging, tolling. If I could only bring one lure this is what it would be.

I stopped in at Cabela’s in Dundee Michigan last night to pick up “a few” lures. My wife nearly fell over when the total came up to $112. My shopping list is a near copy of this discussion. Thanks for all the great suggestions!
