Fished Daniels in mid-August. Very deep lake in spots,100-140feet.
Good lake for lake trout, should be decent fishing for lakers.
We caught a lot of small bass. Not much else to say.
We fished Caribou and Moon Lake at the end of June. Leeches and slip bobbers were used almost exclusively. On Caribou there is an outlet stream from Deer Lake on the south shore directly across from Campsite #4. We had tremendous success at this location for smallmouth; fishing the stumps around this outlet. We also fared well for northerns on Moon using leeches as well, and an occasional small rock bass which was caught and used for bait. For walleye (on Caribou), toward the evening hours we fished points where the water dropped off from about 3-4 feet to about 7-10 feet. Try to fish the areas where the wind is blowing into the structure. We would cast into the shallower water and slowly retrieve the slip bobber rig until it stood up straight, bouncing the leech off the rocks (7-10 feet). Also there is a sunken island on the eastern end of Caribou which is excellent walleye structure. The edge of weed beds is an easy spot to locate northerns. At this time of year, though, look for the weeds that are still green since they are still producing oxygen. I realize that June success doesn't necessarily translate into September success, but there isn't a drastic change in the water temperature, Caribou and Moon are excellent lakes for smallmouth, walleye, and northerns. I guess I'll find out how the fall fishing is....I'm returning October 3-7. Watch out for the moose and grouse hunters!
