Where do you think the Walleyes will be next week? I assume they will be more in their mid-June locations? Wind swept points? Not on reefs yet?

What are peoples thoughts?

That is where I typically fish this time of year up there. But, hasn't it been an unusually warm spring, perhaps sending them a bit deeper?

Thanks.

We were up in through Stuart the last week of May, and Walleyes were still in shallow water (most we caught were in 6' or less) and near moving water for the most part. However, we didn't fish for them deep much. The locals said after we got back into Ely, that the Walleyes hadn't even come up yet :) We did catch a couple in 19' of water, but they were only 6-9' below the surface as that is what our particular lures dived to. I am no expert, but they were plenty shallow last week.

Also, everything we heard before we went up was things are early, things are early. However, what we discovered from the locals, is that nothing else but the warm weather was actually ahead of schedule. Or so they said. Take that for what it is worth.

I realize this post was pre-emptive to the end of May, but thought I'd add my two cents of knowledge...

We actually found them deep and shallow. In small lakes we were getting them in 25-30 feet of water last week. In large lakes we found them on windswept points in 6-12 feet of water. We had absolutely zero luck in the typical hot spots in rapids areas.
