No trout streams (although several lie outside the wilderness), but a good number of small lakes within the BWCAW are managed (stocked) with stream trout. Check out the MN DNR publication: "Trout Angling Opportunities in Northeastern Minnesota".

Like artic said there are numerous streams that border the bdub such as lullaby creek to name one, and many lakes managed for stream trout. Any stream between managed stream trout lakes is also a potential target.

Sounds good. Thanks for the insight. We have a cabin south of Ely and a few of the neighbors referenced some good secret trout streams so I was wondering if they were pulling my leg or not. I was not expecting there to be trout in the area other than Lakers but I will investigate as you said with the state, etc. Thanks all!

Ahsub has had the brook trout population overrun by smallmouth bass. This is not uncommon in the BWCA. Sadly, this information cannot be gleaned from the DNR Lake Finder website. Rather forums such as this, or the locals will have the most accurate and up-to-date information.
(I am not anti-smallmouth, but once an aggresive fish gets tossed in with the smaller trout, it's pretty much over.)
