A couple days back I was on a small lake I fish at this time of year. Typically the water temps at this time range between 49 and 56 degrees, well i had a temp of 67 degrees, way high for this time of year. Has anyone noticed this on the lakes you fish .

Is it possible to have two fall turnovers? I have had 53-58 degree water tems for the last 3 weeks from Duluth down to the Moose Lake area. I know a couple of the lakes had turned over before the warm spell. I wonder if the water warmed up enough that some the lakes will turn again?

I think its possible but unlikely to have two turnovers, because once the thermocline ruptures it would take quite a while with very high temperatures for the stratification process to regenerate, Im thinking a month or so at least. That being said these warm temps can significantly delay turnover in lakes that havent turned over yet.

I doubt that it's possible to have two turnovers, and do not think any lakes turned yet.
A few weeks back, lake temp readings indicated turnover beginning, but stopped when the warm spell moved in.
Burntside about 5 days ago had 59 degrees surface temp, 54-55 degrees in 20-30 FOW.
