I know I could probably look the answer to this question up in a heartbeat. But, I tend to enjoy posting on this forum so... If I enter the BWCA in MN, can I fish in Canadian waters? For example; if I enter at Saganaga, can I go into the half of the lake that is in Canada and fish it with only a MN fishing license?

Thanks

You would also need a remote area border crossing permit, and an Ontario license

If you do you need a license and need to follow their rules (barbless hooks, etc.)

If I remember live bait is also a problem. Just look for the big dotted line in the water and stay on the US side, :)

You have half the lake. No need to get greedy and become a "violator."

Not many fish left on the Canadian side anyway due to those dang violators :)

What makes you think the fishing is any better on the Canuck side eh?

no reason, just thought I would ask. We will make sure to steer clear of that dotted line in the middle of the lake though. Thanks for the advice.

I thought the fishing was always better on the other side of the lake. isn't that one of the general 'Angler's rules' which ALWAYS seems to apply if one has a large bass boat with a ginormous engine!
