I read enough about power bait to invest into some for my next trip. I have never been a plastics fisher. I don't know how to rig them, or how to fish them. I would like to hone in on walleye, I catch enough smallmouth and northern to make me sick trolling and casting. What tactics would help me?

Sick??? Tactics?? Take some Pepto-Bismol, tylenol and a good stiff drink...in that order. :-)

I like using Power Baits that mimic natural minnows and just rig them on a jig like you would a live minnow. Put the tip of the hook through the front of the minnow and thread it on so that the minnow rides straight on the hook and the hook protrudes through the top of the minnow. Will look for a photo and post when I find one.
It's deadly...I boated a limit of walleyes this fall in a local lake here and I was outfishing others using live bait right next to me.
To fish them, I like to drift and verticle jig them next to the boat until I find fish. Then I try to sit still and verticle jig at whatever depth they are. Good luck! Let us know how you do.

I'm a live bait guy but power baits are very effective also. Gutman is right.
