Does anyone know if Lake Mudro EP 23 has lake trout? I thought I read either here or on the DNR site that it does.

No trout in Mudro. You may have been thinking of Alruss which is just a trip through the woods from Mudro. It is stocked with Brookies (not lakers though).

Canoe Dude,

Have you ever been to Alruss and caught any brookies?

nah, sorry I have not. but I believe I have read reports of people that have. Click on the links in my first post, it links the dnr info. They have stocked brookies in it regularly for the last ten years or so. I have been through Mudro a few times, however, we are usually on our way up to something like Crooked or some of the other lakes up by the border. I dont think Alruss gets a whole lot of pressure as it is off the beaten path so to speak. Take a look here to check out a map and stuff. From info from the dnr site, it looks like you would want to get at it from Sandpit lake, but there is a portage coming from Fourtown creek as well.

I also read through some of the info and it looks like Splake were possibly stocked in there back around 1965.

Thanks Canoe Dude,
I did read about two groups fishing there but they did not catch anything.
