Snakecharmer has got it nailed. Very good lake to catch a limit of eater sized walleyes. There are some jumbo perch and big nortons too.
My best luck early in the season has been in the shallow bay on the north end of the lake. There's a small creek that runs into the lake from a bog. It will have the warmest water so usually plenty of walleyes cruising the area. We do well with orange jigheads and leeches in early June but I would recommend minnows when the water is this cold. You can paddle to the mouth of the creek and just drift out from there past some of the boulders and into the shallow flats.
I've never fished the creek although the bay where the creek flows into at the entrance of the lake should be a good place to fish this time of year. As I recall it is mostly a shallow area, especially to the west, and pike fishing oughtta be good in that spot this early in the year since the pike will be in very shallow water.
also the island campsites are great and theres a campsite on the east side of the lake with a giant rock that we've always wanted to stay at. been to this lake a few times, let me know if you have any questions on it
