Heading out for a week long trip starting this Saturday and I was hoping for some suggestions for catching some nice lakers and pike. Any general info about good locations, lure/bait suggestions would be appreaciated.

We have no concrete route, but will be starting on Gillis and plan on staying in that area and exiting through Tuscarora. There will probably a daytrip or two if anyone could suggest a good lake for bass or walleye thats not too far. Thanks!

There is a lot of good 20'-30' water between the three islands on Tusc., I would start there by trolling deep diving crankbaits. In the evening try working the shorelines of these islands for shallower fish. If you don't connect, try heading south east of the island with the campsite on it into the 40'-50' basin. There were some fish in these areas two weeks ago. I had no luck on Gillis but talked to others that did.

Good Luck!

Last year my wife caught her first ever laker right out in front of site #505 on Gillis. Between there & the bay running up to the NW would be a good spot to start.
