two 225 lb. men with outdated clothing who like to fish alot. Most "paddling done in homade ciger or 1968 grumman. Also what about bent shafts? or keep 54" ottertail wood? 40 miles

Your ask'n for trouble with this bunch brother! I'm a fan of the Wen-o-na Champlain. For a 40 mile trip, I'd spend the extra $5 per day to go with a Kevlar model. Keep with the straight paddles if your gonna be fishing, as they are easier use with one hand. You'll hear the pros of Royalex, and Aluminum, Souris River, and Bells, they're all just as great for slightly different reasons go with what your outfitter suggests and have fun.
