Seems like most of the Basswood posts on here are for Jackfish and Pipestone bays. I have had a bunch of luck over there catching Walleyes but am looking for some new scenery. We are paddling into the Washington Island and Back Bay area the last week of September from Moose Lake. I have never fished this side of the lake so I'll take any pointers I can get. Hoping to find enough walleyes for a couple meals but I am easily pleased so whatever tugs on the other end of the line would be just fine. I realize we are probably better off targeting Northerns this time of year but if your going to Basswood, it would be a sin not to walleye fish! Thanks in advance.

You may want to try half dog island , wind bay and there is a small bay off of frog on the west side that is good for walleyes.

Caught a 5 1/2 lb smallmouth trolling just north of Washington a few years back!
