Don't under estimate the Shallow Running Shad Rap.

My favorite, same as TGO's. For me, those lures are the end of catching fish, in general. I have 7-10, and can usually only catch weeds with them.

For trolling, I really like TailDancers and Deep Taildancers. I've caught lakers, bass, walleye, and pike with these lures.

If the water is a bit shallow, I like Huskyjerks. I caught a 39" northern trolling one of those...

For just casting, I prefer other baits: topwater near shore at dusk/dawn, zulus during the spring, and jig/leeches all the rest of the time.

Long-lining a jointed F11 or F13 in Chartruese over the shallows at night in the fall for Walleyes. I just drooled a little...

I have become partial to minnow raps for trolling. Also like shad raps, tail dancers and x-rap shads. Firetiger usually first in the water, other colors, perch, purple, silver, gold, chart, etc.

Black and white jointed 9 for trolling in shallower water.
Goldfish or black and white shad rap 5 casting, or trolling mid depth water.
Silver blue deep down husky jerk for trolling deeper water.
Black and white, perch, clown 8 or 9 floaters, jointed, husky jerk, or rap for general purpose, river, and/or surface twitching.

Original Floating Rapala, size 11, black and silver, 4-3/8” lure. This lure will catch all four of the grand slam species, walleye, northern pike, lake trout and smallmouth. It can be retrieved in a steady fashion, trolled to all kinds of depths depending on the amount of weight added to the line, twitched on the surface, or brought back in using a stop and go retrieve.

The steady retrieve will catch all four different types of fish depending on the season. You have a better chance of catching a lake trout on a steady retrieve in the early spring phase. Walleyes can be caught around current or weed beds during the spring using a straight retrieve. Smallmouth and pike can be caught during all open water seasons using this method.

Trolling this lure can produce all four species during each of the open water fishing seasons. Walleye and trout can be found shallow in the spring and deeper in the summer. By adding weight to your line you can reach the depths where these fish are typically feeding during the summer months.
