I was reading about bass and trout in the river. Anyone know anything about it? Going up this weekend for a few days. Thanks

I've never caught a bass in any north shore river. I have never heard of any of those rivers containing bass. I have had decent luck on the Manitou for brookies - from the cascades all the way down to the lower campsites.

Just curious, what were you reading that said there were bass in the Manitou River?

It's a fun river to fish. Very nice area to spend some time in the woods drowning worms.

No bass in the Manitou. Fun brookie stream that's big enough to fly-fish. Back in the day I used to catch the occasional brown and rainbow there, too.

Small Roostertail spinners in white, yellow and gray for Brookies. Don't forget to buy a trout stamp.

With the flooding and more rain this weekend the water flow could be very heavy.

We catch bass walleyes and northern while fishing rainbows up the shore. Are thought is they come down the rivers from headwaters at high water times. Seen bass in many rivers on the shore.
