I had planned to be up north right now, but my editors have buried me with assignments, so I'm dying to see some fish pics of fish just caught (no fish of yesteryears). Why aren't you fishers posting pics? Fish pics, please.
Pretty,

In between monsoons I managed a half a dozen smallies, two Pike and two walleyes on my first bdub trip of the year. Very slow fishing. I tried every presentation I had outfitted myself for but a husky jerk ripped and then suspended in their face triggered a few fish.

Had to make a post since my previous trip up ended in a skunk! I was out two weeks ago, and managed the trifecta. Walleye, SMB, and Pike. I believe this is my personal best pike in open water, but I did not get an exact measurement. Lost my leaches the 3rd day, and used almost all artificials. We also ran into Bluegills, crappie, perch, and witnessed hordes of suckers spawning and making "fountains" along shore. Couldn't believe how hot it was around may 15th...

FAT bass and you get 1500 Mollypoints, redeemable for valuable prizes, for holding the pike farther from the camera rather than duct taping it to the lens. How'd you lose you leeches?

Thanks,Walleyes are my fav. Though I seem to wander into nicer trout than walleyes. This year I may not even try for trout based on my trip outline--will be weird.

Sweet. Would love to catch some panfish while in the BW. I'm all ears if ya wanna tell me where you caught them at LOL.
Seriously, I'm all ears..........
Some people see nature as being made "Just for them", and view others as an invasive species..... We are always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group worked for their money .. the second group did not.” WTF???

I took a marathon day trip yesterday to one of my favorite BWCA walleye lakes. I did pretty well considering there wasn't any chop on the water during most of the day. Calm sunny days usually separate the wannabe's from the real deal. I had 3 decent releases (2 x 24" & 1 x 25")and caught a handful of smaller fish. Here are a couple of hasty self-timer pictures.

Nice fish, walleye hunter, but please answer this question: I'm going solo next week and I want to know how you do a self-timer pic. Where do you set your camera or is it mounted on your canoe?

missmolly- I have a little gadget called an ultra-pod that I discovered via this website. I don't remember where I ordered it from but I'm sure a quick google search will turn up a few retailers. It is a mini tri-pod but the best part is that it comes with a Velcro strap attached so I just strap it on the thwart of the canoe.

Thanks,

Just got back yesterday from our trip through Seagull-Ogish-Sak and have some nice pics I'll be posting soon once I've gathered them up. We really only fished during the night so our numbers weren't staggering, but the size was pretty impressive. I'd say our average 'eye was 18-20 inches with a few legit trophies. Let's just say there's at least one true Loch Ogish Monster out there :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what you caught on Ogish. That lake has been on my radar for a while.

Gotta get the pics from my buddy, but we had fantastic luck with the 'eyes at the narrows right at dusk. Everyone was too pooped from all the paddling to really comb the lakes, but there is definitely some size in there and SAK.

My daughter Ashley's first Bdub smallie. She hadn't been back since the blow down, and was determined to catch something bigger than a sunny. She bought her own tackle box and lures, and was all smiles with this beautiful smallmouth.
Her dad was all smiles with his first wilderness chair. Thanks to the gear forum and those of you who made the suggestion. Savagevoyageur was that you? By the way, I suggest using better line for the top loop. Mine broke, and I fell flat on my back. I'm very lucky the little branch stub that ripped into my elbow was only an 1/8th of an inch long, and tore right out, without going deep enough for stiches. Trim your stubble folks.
This little guy was happy to leave no trace. It was an interesting end to the trip actually. Earlier in the weekend, I shared a story about a fisher that came into camp, in the middle of the night, about 35 years ago, and took 18 walleyes from us (yeah yeah, my dad used to keep everything). It was scary for a young boy, as dad had me hold the flashlight while he threw rocks... poorly. That fisher was vicious, from my point of view at least. I went on to say, I hadn't seen a fisher in 35 years since. My daughter's boyfriend, colin, asked what one looked like and I had a bit of trouble explaining. I said it was in the weasel family, about the size of a fox, with brown hair, but failed a bit in painting a picture.
Then, as we were packing up, I asked colin, "you remember when you asked what a fisher looked like?", He said "yes", and I said, "well, something like that", and pointed to the middle of camp, where this little youngster, and it's brother or sister, had wondered out to clean up a couple random peanuts. Cute little buggers, but I was real worried where mom might be. Quite ironic considering the conversation we had a couple days earlier.

was lucky to be able to spend a few days at Izzy's campsite learning about walleye fishing and other fun stuff ... his kids are crazy for fishing, too.
some of the many highlights of the trip: catching walleyes, having a fox in camp, catching walleyes, momma merganser and babies, catching walleyes, seeing a kevlar canoe seriously bent in jasper falls, catching walleyes, excellent food, hospitality and conversation, catching bass, northern and, did i mention... Walleyes!
